  1. 5 out of 5

    (verified owner):

At $5 each, a bargain. Sure, the surface is a bit oxidized, and a spot or 2 of actual rust, but these are carbon steel, and tougher than the aluminum carabiners rated for climbing. I use them for hanging my hammock and for tie-down points on my truck. Many miles of rough use, and still good. Out of 16 of these I’ve bought, only 1 has had any issues, and that was a gate that was slow to spring back.

Genuine US GI 1981 vintage carabiners with some storage / shelf wear. These should not be used for mountaineering or life or death use, but should be acceptable for anything, everyday, less stressful use. I carry one on my pack and keep a few in my truck just in case. These are handy for multiple everyday uses, at a great price.

AS described and just about as inexpensive as the come. Don’t care for their minimum order two. I bought two sets and now have 7 more than I need.

  4. 4 out of 5

    (verified owner):

The description is spot on. I used this type rappelling in the Army in the 90’s. Of the 4, one had some corrosion and the others had some discoloration and surface wear. I probably wouldn’t trust my life to them but they certainly work for loads and tiedowns and to keep gear secured to my pack. Good Purchase.

I got these on sale but either way are a bargain for the price. A little surface corrosion on the gates but with a little WD40 they snap back like new. Real carabiners are hard to find and costly. These will work for fine my uses.

I’ve used these for 30 years… Had one on first time I ‘turtled’ on the Wall in basic, LOL…. These ase official US issue, have been probably since Korea. I have a dozen in my gear, just bought 4 more, & getting ready to grab another set or two… A quick rub of steel wool or a wirewheel, swab on some gun blue, the a shot of WD40… Pretty as a gun barrel. TOP Rating.
