Description
Lightweight and easy to maneuver current military issue snowshoes will not take a toll on your legs while trekking through the deep snow. The frame of these snowshoes is made of a lightweight PVC tubing and the decking material is a white urethane coated nylon. Measures 19” x 11 ½” at the widest point. Adjustable bindings allows most boot sizes. Metal cleats on the bottom for added traction. Although these are in used condition, they still have many miles of wear to them. Boots not included. are these able to be worn in deep soft sand

In deep soft snow… you either can walk on the top of it… or ever step is what is termed “post holing”. You will sink up to your knees or crotch in the snow with every step. What snow shoes do is allow you to not create holes. You still will sink… but not nearly as much. The bigger the snowshoe… the more float you get. You need more surface area when carrying heavy loads or with different snow conditions. I’ve never walked on any sand that would require snowshoes. The one exception to this is with boggy or marsh terrain. Deep mud. However in water… you do not want to have “snowshoes” strapped to your feet as it’s a life safety issue. Hope this information helps.
