KA-BAR Becker Nessmuk Knife

The KA-BAR Becker Nessmuk BK19 proves that remarkable capability can fit into your outdoor setup without weighing you down. Designed by legendary outdoorsman and knifemaker Ethan Becker, this versatile fixed-blade knife adapts the classic Nessmuk blade profile while preserving the rugged dependability that made the Becker name famous. At the heart of its design is a 4.31-inch Nessmuk blade crafted from American-made 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel, prized for its toughness, impressive edge retention, and straightforward sharpening. Its ergonomic Ultramid polymer handle scales offer a secure, full-sized gripping surface designed to reduce fatigue during extended slicing, skinning, and wood-crafting tasks. Measuring 9.125 inches overall, the BK19 is remarkably well-balanced, making it an excellent choice for hunters, backpackers, campers, and survival enthusiasts. A durable protective powder coating helps protect the steel from corrosion while giving this workhorse a rugged finish. The included molded hard plastic sheath offers secure storage and versatile mounting possibilities, making it easy to incorporate into your gear. Whether you're processing game, preparing tinder for a campfire, cutting cordage, or tackling camp chores, the BK19 demonstrates how thoughtful engineering can modernize a classic wilderness tool. New condition. Straight edge. Made in the USA.

Expert Tips: The 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel blade should be cleaned and thoroughly dried after use, with a light application of protective oil on exposed metal to help prevent surface rust. Check and tighten the handle hardware periodically to ensure the Ultramid scales remain firmly secured. Always check the sheath's retention mechanism before carrying, particularly when mounting it to a pack or belt. This versatile knife makes an outstanding addition to any dedicated hunting, camping, or emergency preparedness kit.
