Description

Whether you’re in the bush, on the boat, or anywhere you’re in need of a good nutritious meal, you can count on our Mil Spec MREs. These military style MRE’s are offered in a case of 12 assorted meals. Meals are prepared under rigorous specifications for taste, nutrition, and stability. No preparation or refrigeration required (for unopened portions). Just heat in the microwave, hot water, or use the included MRE Heater to warm your meal. Each meal has approximately 700-1,000 calories. Meals consist of an entrée, MRE heater, side dish, instant coffee, utensils, crackers, peanut butter or jelly, condiments, and sometimes hot sauce. We sell many MRE’s everyday so our inventory is always fresh!

Also, all images listed are for representative purposes only, and may not exactly depict variations from item to item, or the exact item you should expect to receive. Many incoming shipments that come from the US government or other sources are mixed lots which may have been made by different manufacturers at different times and may vary from unit to unit. This is standard in the military surplus industry.

The MRE's we are offering are fresh with a manufacture date within the past few years, and if stored in a cool and dry environment will stay fresh for 5 years from date of manufacture.

How to decifer the date code on the MRE's you've purchased from Coleman's Military Surplus, LLC:
Individual MRE units all go off a Julian Calendar Date which is a 4 digit number printed on the meal.
For example, “2283”
That first number is the last digit of the year, so 2022, and the last 3 is the day. Referring to the example above, the food would be made on the 283rd day of 2022, and be good until 2027.

what is your favorite MRE from this case

The spicy meat loaf thing.

Are these genuine MRE’s? The photo looks like these are a knock-off and not true military MRE’s.

The entree either is identical to a true MRE component or is a close copy; the meal packet even includes a chemical heater that works well. However, the side item is invariably a single large chocolate chip - like cookie, and not the large crackers or baked items like in MREs. No peanut butter, and no coffee, hot sauce, gum, toilet paper, or matches are included, though a tea packet is. It's still a good value, though.

What is the shelf life for these meals? Do they have an expiration date?

Approximately 5 years

What is the expire date?

I did not buy any on 03 16 23

How long do the mres last

Most are 3 to 5 years. Depending how they are stored. I have mine in crawl place, cooler and not damp. I have heard of people freezing them to last longer. Not sure if it really works.
