Description
Now you can own a piece of history. These haversacks are over 150 years old. Used only 13 years after the Civil War or 38 years before WWI. This Genuine 1878 bag is the real deal, which makes it a great collectible! The name “Haversack” originally meant “a bag with a single strap used to carry rations”. The bag is made of drab duck canvas with the U.S insignia on the front and D-rings on the upper back corners. The bag has a 12” x 14” flap on the front. Inside this flap is a large document/map pocket. The bag is divided into three compartments. These bags are very fragile and may have small holes, tears, and soiling due to age and handling over many years. These bags are not meant for use but would be beautiful on display or in a private collection. Quantities are very limited. MADE IN THE U.S.A.
