For $35.00 you can’t go wrong. I bought one, found out it is the perfect size, I am 6′ covers my toes and half my face if I need, the width is correct also. it is great for the sitting around the house or to carry in the back seat of your car. since the first one I have now been asked to give them as gifts. ordered 7 more for the adult kids and other family members. compared to the name brand Woolrich, Pendelton and Filson wool blankets, you can buy everyone a quality wool blanket for 70% less. you have to give it to those Germans they knew how to make it the correct size and weight. Prost!

This is a fantastic blanket for the price. I have a Bulgarian H3 (softest), Yugoslavian(most utilitarian), an Italian(thinnest), & a Dutch repro(thickest, warmest, sheds heavily). This German is the most dense, thicker than avg, & the finest stitching/finish). This is however the smallest of them all. There is enough to wrap up in for one person, but just. The size would be my only con. Overall…a beautiful, warm wool blanket.

Fantastic blanket. Makes a good throw for the couch or to wrap at camp. Thick heavy wool and it was in near new condition. No smells, stains or anything else. Thinking of ordering a second one to keep in the truck as part of my emergency kit. Really happy with it.

A warm, durable, heavy, thick wool blanket and the word cheap are not usually synonymous for a good product.
Unless, you’re talking about this German wool blanket which is definitely the exception!
Yes, this is a used, surplus item but I’d be surprised if you could tell. With the exception of the manufacturing date on the tag. Mine was made November 30, 1983! Just about one year younger than I am and it’s definitely held up better than I have after all these years, HA! Just ask the wife, HA and another HA!
This is designed as a cot blanket so do not expect it to cover your king sized bed. But the size is perfect to wrap up an individual on the couch or sitting next to a camp fire.
It’s cheap enough so I don’t feel like I need to baby the thing and feels durable enough for pretty much all the situations that I would be putting the blanket through.
Definitely would be a good idea to keep one in the car for the cold seasons. Or just anywhere that you might need an extra blanket.
It is a tad rough feeling, especially if you’re switching from a fleece or down blanket but, IT’S FREAKING WOOL! So don’t excepect teddy bear softness but it’s also not like a scouring pad against your skin either. The closest thing I can compare it too is like the feeling you get on your arms when you wear a tee shirt underneath a knot sweater.
Also no hugely obnoxious, surplus smell. That weird, odd, dank warehouse smell that kind of grows on you after a while, if you’re weird like me HA! I’ve hung my blanket outside for half a day and it was just fine.
So, in conclusion, yes I’d definitely buy one again if I happened to lose this blanket somehow. And I’d definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a wool blanket!
Das is gutten, ya! Danka Colemans!

These are awesome wool blankets!! I purchased 3 for my storm shelter and they are thick and warm. They were in great condition and had no funky smell. All but one had clear undamaged care tags making those two seem unissued. No rips, tears, or even repairs.
While these are big and heavy(5lbs each) we folded them flat and put them in a vacuum bag to keep dry and flat.
