Bought these as an addition to my car kits. They are well made and scream quality. I plan to add c couple to my luggage for “just in case” usage. I mentioned the purchase to one of my students; at his request I brought in a sample. He suggested using them as belt with utilities or jeans. Not my style but obviously his generation has a different standard; perhaps yours does too.

I first had to figure out how these work; for others that don’t know, search for “over-center tie down straps” video online. It’s a much simpler mechanism than the ratcheting type, which you probably won’t find for $1.50 each! I received two slightly different styles, one of them has raised bumps on the side of the lever, which requires a lot of force to get past the U-bar. I guess this is a safety feature to keep them from opening, but it also makes them harder to close. I would recommend putting a rag or something under the buckle if you don’t want to scratch your cargo since there isn’t any rubber or plastic coating on the metal parts.

Some of the straps I received had buckles with a lot of paint worn off, so I question if these are really all new, but it is still a great price.

After watching the short recommended video “over the center tie down straps” 2 times, the straps worked great. Ten brand new straps for the sale price of $3.74 was super what a great bargain!!!

I had bought a 10 pack before and was pleased with the quality. When these straps came on-sale at $3.75 for a ten pack, I took advantage of the pricing. The straps were all wrapped with identical white twine, so likely came from the same lot. Each was in new condition — no scrapes, scratches or frayed edges. Should you need additional length, these straps can be daisy chained. The quality is simply outstanding and at the sale price of $0.38 each, you cannot come close to the price anywhere. Buy several packs, I did.

Great quality straps, I use for extending the straps on the cargo nets to make a more secure tie down.

These straps were originally used on the military ALICE packs to secure loads to the cargo plate, and pack frames. The straps are perfect for securing loads to just about anything, these straps appear to be new…10 straps, military grade for the price of these, I don`t think can be beat elsewhere !!..Great service, and fast delivery….You won`t be sorry !!!.

Priceless… So many uses that I need to order more! Unused condition, the webbing alone is well worth the price.

These are in good shape and some are even new never used. Great medium and light duty tie downs.

These are the cargo straps missing from every ALICE pack I have ever owned. Perfect for using with the shelf , frame , or tying additions to your gear simply and securely. I plan on ordering more soon.

Be warned, the description says unused, but half of the ones I ordered are obviously very, very used. Yes, the are still functional, but if you are expecting to pay for unused straps you will not get what you expect.

These are handy to have, if only to re-purpose the webbing, but they are not “unused”. One buckle was badly distorted and may not be salvageable. They are inexpensive enough to be worth the price paid though. I will soak and wash the stiff ones in warm soapy water which should help restore them. The webbing used to make these was always a bit stiff when new anyway.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars because in the surplus world, perfection is rare.

Some of these were new, some were lighty used. For the price i can’t say i care.

One you figure out how to work them they’re fantastic.

I find they work really well for blanket rolls, wrap two around a rolled up wool blanket. Then if you’re feeling adventurous attach one of the carry straps coleman’s sells. perfect for tossing the the back of the car in the winter months.

endless uses, much better than the plastic clip kind if you ask me. you can’t go wrong with these.

Webbing is in like new condition but the buckle seems to be made for some unknown special purpose application and are otherwise useless as far as I can tell. Other reviewers reference an instructional video but I could not find one that demonstrated the type of buckle found on the straps I received. At only 75 cents per strap, I have no regrets. I’ll find a use for the webbing and throw the buckles in the scrap metal pile.
