Can this net be laid out flat to be used as a screen around a sunshade? Or is it cut specifically for a cot?

It is specifically cut to go over a cot . But depending on the situation I think you could probably lay it flat over a bivy without running a ridge line . I didn’t have a chance to actually use it but I know I will definitely put it to use in my survival camping situations .
