Worn by the Swiss military mountain riflemen in the 1920’s, these extreme dark green lenses of these goggles shielded their eyes from the glare of the sun reflecting off the bright white glaciers. The real glass lenses are held in place by brass rims. Brass was used for the rims so they wouldn’t rust under severe conditions, and they were painted black so they didn’t reflect the sun. The rims were also vented to prevent fogging and were lined with a soft velvety material for comfort next to your face. The flexible cloth nose piece and tie strings hold the goggles surprisingly snug to your face. All that and they even come in their original hinged tin carry case. Whether you’re a collector or plan on using them for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or motorcycling, you’ll see that these are a very special find. Gently used nice condition.
