These rare steel helmets were made for the US Government and used by the Office of Civilian Defense (OCD) during WWII. The OCD was formed in 1941 by President Roosevelt to protect civilians and boost morale. These steel helmets are beige outside with a gray cotton mesh head support and leather sweat band inside. These rare helmets would make a great addition to any collection. Unused condition, but may show signs of minor surface rust due to long term storage.
