Imagine being a civilian during WWII equipped with binoculars and this armband. The job that you volunteered for was to watch for enemy bomber planes that were
invading the U.S. skies. These volunteers were organized through local American Legions. Extensive recognition training was given and these armbands were issued. These armbands were worn by the Ground Observer Corps from 1941 to 1944. They are made of wool felt with a brightly embroidered insignia. Unused Condition. MADE IN THE U.S.A.
