The Ontario Knife Company made this 18 in. military machete to tough U.S. Government specs and it has been a mainstay since WWII. It's made of strong carbon steel which is phosphated to prevent corrosion. The smooth handle is also fire-resistant. Almost 24 in. overall. Great military machete for cutting down brush or for adding to your collection. MADE IN USA. Unused/Unissued.

Does the machete come with a scabbard?

It does not.

Does anyone know the manufacture date of these? Apparently post 2017 OKC moved to 1075 steel over 1095.

I don’t know about date of manufacture the stamp is two lines and is perpendicular to the spine not along the spine as I have seen on older ones. I can’t tell a difference between this and the 40year old one I have used. It does also have a black anti glare paint on the blade
