Are the legs of this boot insulated, as the shoe of the boot is? If so, how good is the insulation? Is it thick or thin? Lastly, do the legs stand up on their own and how well do they stay up when wearing and walking around?

The Mukluk legs are not insulated persay and do not stand up on their own. The legs are tough but not insulated. Using regular heavy outdoors socks and the Mukluk liners, the Mukluks are very comfortable and useful in cold weather. Walking around in the Mukluks is comfortable.

How resistant to water are these? If I wear them in deep snow for hours or days, are they eventually going to be soaked and lose their insulating properties?

The outer layer of the boot is canvas, so it is water resistant but not waterproof. To that point, the snow conditions will play a big part in how much resistance. I've attached a link to a video I found helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t74E3cpP5jY&ab_channel=Bensbackwoods I just wore mine for a week in Alaska (4-6 hrs at a time) while ice fishing, walking snow covered trails, snowmobiling, and going out to watch the northern lights. Temps ranged from minus 15to 25 deg F with 32 inches of snow. It was cold and the snow was powdery, but my feet stayed warm and dry. These are great boots, but definitely need to wear with the liners.

Do these come with boot liners and i wear an 8 .5. Should i order a med.9-10

boots come with a wool insole but liners are a separate purchase. I purchased the slightly used pair of liners and they were of great quality. if it were me I would order the small size boot as they are rater roomy

Are there also separate felt insoles for these? If so, where can you get them?

The Muckluks and liners ARE sold separately.. Coleman may have them, you can check to see if they're in stock. If not, they are available other places, Ebay, Amazon, etc. Great boots for dry cold!!

Are these boots waterproof?

No, while they will shed some water, they are designed for dry cold. Traversing powder snow is not a problem, however wet snow or standing water will leave you with wet feet - get micky boots for those conditions. I treated mine with waterproof spray as an added measure.
